Bachelor's degree in computer science
Information Technology
or a related field At least three years of experience in system administration
with a strong focus on Linux operating systems Red Hat certification

Responsibilities:
As a Linux systems administrator II
you will deploy
configure
and secure Linux servers using automation tools and custom-built scripts in physical and virtual environments You will monitor
manage
and troubleshoot network-connected equipment to ensure optimal functionality while overseeing user accounts
file storage
and security permissions You will be responsible for the review and enhancement of host security standards— including the analysis of security practices and recommendations for improvements to bolster overall security effectiveness You will also analyze performance metrics
troubleshoot issues
and implement solutions to meet operational requirements In this role
you will develop and test recovery strategies and disaster procedures for server operating systems and their service components You will collaborate with database administrators and web programmers to optimize deployments and ensure performance and compliance with standards
recoverability
and security Your responsibilities will include the integration of SAN practices with server operating system deployment and recovery
the exploration of standards to enhance uptime and performance
and the management of records to ensure up-to-date documentation of configurations and services You will provide troubleshooting support to second and third-level support to technicians and system administrators and manage comprehensive documentation of services
configurations
customizations
and projects You will also demonstrate outstanding problem-solving skills and attention to detail as the systems administrator Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday
